Adam Moderow *

My name is Adam Moderow, and I’ve had the pleasure of serving on the County Board for the last four years. I grew up in Freeport, and after graduating from college I moved back home with my wife, Juliet, to start our family. I want to give back to our community. I teach Developmental Reading and GED courses for Highland Community College. I’m also a published writer.

In addition to serving on the County Board, I’ve stayed active in our community as a member of Northwest Illinois Bird and Nature Alliance. I’m also an assistant coach for the FHS Speech Team. I’ve served on the boards of Winneshiek Playhouse and the Freeport Public Library Foundation. I also play trumpet for the Freeport Concert Band. I hope to earn your vote on November 3rd!

County Board Record Highlights

Infrastructure

Adam was an early supporter of the new Stephenson County Strategic Plan, which included a sustainable maintenance plan for our county roads. Since 2022, he’s voted to repave or repair dozens of miles of roads in our community.

Public Safety

Since 2022 Adam has voted to increase public safety funding by 16.6%, including funding for a social service worker to help address the root causes of crime. He’s also voted for the construction of several safety improvements on our roads for both drivers and pedestrians.

Good Government

Adam believes that regular people like him should be able to participate in local government. That’s why he voted against and defeated an effort to limit public comment at County Board meetings, because you deserve to speak to your local leaders. Adam has also held regular community listening sessions to encourage transparency on county issues and to remain aware of public interests.
